The NRA says that background checks won't stop the next mass shooting, so we shouldn't do it.
Does this mean we should repeal laws against, well, everything? After all, it's illegal to speed, and people still speed. And it's illegal to drive drunk, and people do that too. And it's illegal to murder, and people do that.
That's a really high standard for any law, but it's the logical conclusion of this type of thinking
